There are two ways to use LoanKit in the field. The installed app is best for staff who record trips on the road. The browser version is lighter and works on iPhone.
Installed app (Android)
Download once, install like a normal app.
- Records your route in the background with the screen off

Browser version (PWA)
No file to install. Open the link and add it to your home screen.
- Works on iPhone and Android
- Opens straight from a link, nothing to download
- Good for office use and quick checks
- Background trip recording is limited: the browser pauses location when the screen is off, so a long route can miss points
If you record trips on the road, install the Android app below. If you are on iPhone, or you just need quick access from the office, use the browser version.
📥 How to install the Android app
- Tap Download for AndroidThe app file (APK) downloads to your phone. Open it from the notification or your Downloads folder.
- Allow the installIf your phone warns that it is from an unknown source, tap Settings, turn on Allow from this source, then go back and tap Install.
- Open LoanKit Field and log inUse your usual staff username and password. Choose your app: Collector, Loan Officer, or Credit Investigator.
- Allow location all the timeWhen it asks for location, choose Allow all the time. This lets the app record your route during a trip even when the screen is off.
- Turn off battery saving for this appIn your phone Settings, find LoanKit Field under Apps, open Battery, and set it to Unrestricted. Otherwise Android may stop the app in the background.
🧭 Recording a trip
Open the app, tap Start Trip, then carry on with your route. The app keeps recording in the background, with the screen off or while you use other apps, and it works with no signal. A LoanKit notification stays in your status bar while a trip is recording. Open the app and tap End Trip when you are done, and it uploads once you are back online. Recording uses more battery than usual, so charge before a long day in the field.
Recording continues in the background as long as location is set to Allow all the time and battery is set to Unrestricted for LoanKit Field (see the install steps above).
🔒 Is this safe?
Yes. This is the official LoanKit field app for your lending company's own staff. It only works with a valid staff login, and it sends data over a secure connection. It is shared as a direct download because it is a staff tool, not a public Play Store app.
